Brand New Special Edition

Or: How Gorgeous Is This?
Specials Editions are The Way. Somewhere along the line (or the shelf) as books became collectibles, we had the rise of the spredge, the exclusive retailer/publisher hardcover, the souvenir anniversary edition, the pretty, boxed set of your favourite series… all the gorgeous things that you can show off on your Insta, on your TikTok, and to your wonderful, book-loving buds.
It’s even true of Manga, though in a different way. I see so many people coming in looking for Vol. 5 of something, because they need the full run. And all book buyers have OCD, amirite? Who wants a run of books with one missing?
Anyway, with all that in mind, please get a serious eyeful of this utterly gorgeous Saints of the Imperium Limited Edition, featuring Andy Clark’s Celestine, The Living Saint, David Annandale’s Ephrael Stern, The Heretic Saint and The Triumph of Saint Katherine, by a certain Danie Ware. Each title is signed by the author, bound separately in these stunning hardcovers, and they all come together in a perfectly illustrated slipcase.

Also announced are two more, equally gorgeous Limited Editions, Rob Rath’s Assassinorum: Kingmaker and Mike Brooks’ Voidscarred, both with absolutely astounding covers. All the books are signed, and there’s some cheeky additional content.

Details on the Warhammer Community site, and while there are no dates, as yet, I'll shout as soon as there are!
Reading: Amongst other things, ‘It’s All In Your Head' by Suzanne O’Sullivan, a fascinating look at various case studies of psychosomatic illness, talking about its far-reaching and debilitating physical effects. The author goes into its history, all the way from ‘wandering uterus’ days, and (while she’s not a natural storyteller and the book is a little dry) her compassion and empathy are very strong.
Watching: All sorts of goodies, including Creature Commandos (thoroughly recommend), X-Men ’97 (not so much), the most recent half-series of Wednesday (loved it) and FF at the cinema. The last of these has had some mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it and am looking forward (fingers crossed) to some brighter and more positive Superhero vibes.
Playing: D&D a bit sporadic, as people have Summer shit to do, and I’m taking a complete break from computer games, partially because the current MS is a bit of struggle and I need my time and my brain, and partially just to make better use of my days at home. My figure-painting skills remains truly atrocious, but I’ve got to get better ta this stuff right?
Because I sure as fuck can’t get any worse!!
