Lugan: Now in Paperback!

Because you asked. Yes, you!

As of this morning, Lugan: Vision Quest is available in paperback, from Amazon.

It’s a very weird feeling, holding a physical book that’s been a mental/creative one for so long (tho’ that doesn’t ever change, in fairness, however that book may be published), and I have to say a huge than you to Tom, as ever, for his absolutely gorgeous artwork, and to Catie, bless her socks, for being a formatting powerhouse.

Wouldn’t have been able to do this, etc.

Self-publishing Lugan has been quite the fascinating journey, with a completely new set of parameters. It’s been a serious learning incline, from how to format the MS in the first place, to sourcing suitable art, to understanding what you’ll need to be able navigate the upload form, and then to the itty bitty shitty nitty gritty of taking all the pieces and fitting them into that form, to make them work.

There are various guides on-line, and mostly, it really is quite straightforward. I’m not going to write one myself, as they’re everywhere, and this is one of the best, taking you through it, step-by-step. As long as you’re careful, you follow each point and you get all your measurements right, it should go smoothly. Hopefully.

(Rookie mistake, btw, when the KDP form asks you for the page count, do remember that it’s NOT the page count of the word.doc, it’s the page count of the uploaded MS. Making a note of that one, for if and when I do this again!)

It also interesting to note that Amazon will ask you if the book involves AI. They don’t show the tick box result on the product landing page (which they should do), and I’d love to see the data they collect. 

Needless to say, Lugan does not involve AI (other than the one in the book). I’d rather chew off my own legs.
